The restoration

Lest we think building a homestead is as simple as a garden and rain catches we at last delve into the realm of improving the homestead. I feel like this is an integral part of the process. I have decided to start in the barn and work from he ground up. It is the only part of the house that has not seen major improvement.

So I begin with almost a raw hole in the ground. And a thought in my head. The first step is mostly clean out. There are still things down here from when we bought the place. The majority is wood that needs sorting and burning.

Make no mistake though. There are some gems down here. Sometimes the mechanicitis gets the best of me.

Found a ton of beam sized wood and a full sized sheet of plastic. Hoop houses anyone?

Much more to come.
Until next time…
