A journey to breakfast. 

Our journey begins with a bush. Laden with fruit; but not enough to make jam. This crop cannot go to the birds. 

The decision was made. It would be muffins. 

This came out to be 1/2 of a cup. Just enough to make a batch. The recipe I found on food network. 

While it did not make as much batter as the recipe suggested it was enough for 11 muffins. 

After a brief stay in the oven it is time for the caramel topping. The currants have a very tangy flavor. Far stronger than the tang from a lemon. I figured a little sweet boost would even it out. 

A couple tablespoons of butter, cream, and some brown sugar later caramel is born. Heat this mix to a boil carefully. CAREFULLY this mix is no joke it will stick to skin and keep burning. Once it is smooth it is ready to drizzle on the muffins. 

Remember. Only a drizzle lest it take over.
